Senators Bato Dela Rosa and Robin Padilla, who are presiding over the Senate Hearing, were seen on video by my entire class as we all watched it online. Those who could impact the proposal were there as they discussed the possibility of making ROTC mandatory. The first group to express their opposition to compulsory ROTC was that group.
They emphasized that we should focus on integrating the safety of our Area of Responsibility rather than establishing military training.
Another speaker also offers his perspective on the challenges our educational initiatives face. He maintains that if a budget is allocated expressly for the ROTC program, we should improve our academic buildings, create more classrooms and other infrastructure, and fund wellness programs at the school. He also underlined the assistance provided by our government to youth, which they claimed takes many more forms outside ROTC or required military service.

Speaking for the side supporting mandatory ROTC, he talked about his time as a scout officer in his youth and the importance of ROTC in preparing for the future. Whether or not there is a war, we must plan for the worst-case scenario. We should campaign for mandatory ROTC since we've done it in the past, regardless of what today's youth think. Let's decide their elders because we cannot afford to regret not educating our kids on how to defend themselves and our country in the future.

How long has mandatory ROTC been forbidden in public and private educational institutions? The moment has come for us to implement this suggestion. The Senate must accept it, and it will benefit us if all of our young receive fundamental training that will be helpful when inevitable circumstances happen in our country, such as natural disasters and artificial calamities.
As a cadet of the Philippine National Police Academy, I propose that we encourage all the youth in our respective Provinces to apply for the Cadetship Training Program at the Philippine National Police Academy. to increase community support and patriotism. As cadets, we will support governmental initiatives and work to increase public awareness of how our government is working to improve our quality of life.
