We went to the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Police Office and paid Provincial Director PCOL Christopher M. Bermudez a courtesy call. He shared his experiences as the Provincial Police Director of Sultan Kudarat and how his team worked harmoniously with the local government unit (LGU).
The Province of Sultan Kudarat is composed of a multicultural community, so we asked the Leaders of Sultan Kudarat how they were able to handle the pressure and maintain Peace and Order in the locality. PCOL Bermudez was the former Company commander of Delta company. He shared with us that before, he was left to have Police captain rank, but later on, he was the first of his class to reach a total pledge colonel rank.

He also added that as the future public safety leader of the PNP. What we have learned inside the academy is not always what it is. Because once we've been deployed to our designated area, sometimes the things in real McCoy are not what we have expected. And that is normal; that is why we have to be versatile and know how to maximize our scarce resources to render quality service to the community still.
He also added the importance of establishing a good Service-reputation once you graduate from the academy and put into a unit as your first assignment. The first person you have worked with will also be the first to disseminate what it is like working with you and how you act as a leader. Choose the people you will befriend wisely or the upper-level students that you will idolize because, eventually, they will also be the ones that will help you in climbing up the ladders of the PNP Organization.
Our Mayor is our Doctor

We also took the chance to visit the City Mayor of Tacurong City, Hon. Joseph George L. Lechonsito, MD. Though it is my first time meeting a City Mayor, it feels like I have been doing this for some time. Being exposed daily to high-ranking officials of the PNP and Prominent leaders and personalities at the PNPA developed my self-confidence and helped me interact and start a conversation.
We asked the City Mayor how they coordinate or help the PNP with implementing police policies. The City Mayor is very generous about supporting the advocacies of their COP, wherein they assist with the basic needs of Police operations in the locality. In exchange, the PNP can now render better service to its community.

All in all, our visit to the Sultan Kudarat Province is very productive. We gained new knowledge from our upperclassmen and the perspective of a Mayor on what it is like to lead the people while maintaining a harmonious relationship with the PNP. To stand with the mandate of the PNP to enforce the law, prevent and control crimes, maintain peace and order, and ensure public safety and internal security with the active support of the community.
